DSP and Thaman in full tension

Devi Sri Prasad and Thaman are the best music directors in Tollywood. Both have been undeclared rivals by virtue of the competition between them.

Now they feature Waltair Veerayya and Veera Simha Reddy respectively.

Needless to say, fans are drawing a line of comparison between the two. It was in January 2020 when the movies Ala Vaikunta Puram Lo and Sarileru Neekevvaru were released under the musical direction of Thaman and DSP respectively.

There were huge comparisons between the two and ultimately Thaman scored more than DSP. This does not mean that DSP takes second place. He scored a blockbuster with Pushpa and some of his other films were filled with super chartbusters as well.

But the comparison is still unavoidable now. Already Waltair Veerayya’s debut single was released and received a mixed response. Although the song received a good number of views and likes, the impact was not as expected due to the weakest lyrics ever seen in a DSP song.

Many expected this debut single to be on par with that of Ammadu Kummudu’s song which created a phenomenon. But there’s nothing new about the song “Where is the party” and it sounded as old as the 12-year-old Simbu song from Silambattam which repeats the lines on the same line “Where is the party”. However, this can slowly build up his fanbase with the Chiranjeevi factor.

Now we have to see what awaits us from Thaman with Veera Simha Reddy. If he can deliver something out of the box, then he may be on the verge of winning.

Nowadays, music has become an indispensable tool for measuring the reach of a film. The openings of major films are entirely based on the lyrics and music of a certain time.

The Boss Party song is definitely not the best for drawing attention to theaters. There should be something bigger from Waltair Veerayya towards the exit.

The responsibility for creating excitement for the films lies with DSP and Thaman. We have to see how successful they will be. They must be in deep tension right now.
