The Cure’s “Wish” reissue features 24 previously unreleased tracks: Stream

The Cure have reissued their 1992 album To wish for his 30th birthday. The deluxe edition of the album contains 24 previously unreleased tracks – ranging from rarities and demos to alternate mixes – plus four tracks that were previously only available on the mail-order exclusive tape. lost wishes.

The album was remastered by Robert Smith and Miles Showell at Abbey Road Studios. Smith always wanted to revisit To wish. In a press release, he said:

There’s a side to the album that I kind of forgot about, a very sweet, nostalgic thing that’s quite beautiful. ‘Trust’ is one of the best things we’ve ever done, I think, it’s played with great emotion, and ”To Wish Impossible Things” is another beautiful, soulful track… actually, it just might to be my favorite song on the record. .

In the studio control room, everything sounded great, but I was too busy sorting out our next gigs to oversee the mastering properly. It was too late to do anything; the album was out, and we were off around the world again. This has really bothered me for a very long time. It took 30 years, but finally, finally my wish came true.

In addition to being available on streaming services today, To wish can be ordered as a 45-track 3CD edition (the most complete), a 2xLP vinyl edition and a 1CD edition. Details on these are here.
